Now he's sooooo tall and eats like a grown man! He'll devour a "kids" meal at a restaurant and ask for MORE! At dinner he usually eats the same amount as Eric and I!
Chase had a fun (Cars 2!) birthday party with his friends at the playground. He was so into his birthday this year... wanted to pick out the exact cake from Publix, and he chose every item that went into the goody bags.
And have I mentioned that he's READING!? This just blows me away. To see your child read is something really amazing. I've cried at least 5 times when he does it. It just makes him seem so grown up and so independent.... he needs us less and less every day! I want to get some video of him reading, but haven't done it yet. The other day he said to me, "Mommy, did you know that Minnie Mouse is 4 years old?" I said, "No Chase, I didn't know that... how do you know?" And he said, "Well, because Siena's shirt says so!"
Isn't that cute?! He also loves reading every thing around him and had no problem telling me that Zoey's pajamas told him "Sweet Dreams!"
For his actual birthday we decided to combine his love for scavenger hunts and his new reading skills. We hid his birthday presents and then wrote out easy-to-read clues so he would have to search all over the house for his gifts!
SO proud of him!

I love that he has the biggest smile in all of these pictures as he's searching the house. I can't believe he's reading already! When I talked to him on the phone for his birthday, he sounded like a teenager, I couldn't believe it. He's growing up so fast.
ReplyDeleteHe is such a handsome little man! Love his genuine, sweet smile. Reminds me of both you and Eric.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea to have him search - you are a good mommy to your children!
